The VCIDA was formed on May 30 as a socio-professional association that gathers organisations and individuals in the cultural, creative, technological, educational, corporate, and investment spheres with the aim to connect resources, promote policies, and develop the cultural industry market and ecosystem.
The association’s establishment will help build a creative economy and protect the national cultural identity amidst increasingly deepening international integration.
At its first congress, the association elected a 46-member executive committee, with Vuong Duy Bien named as its president.
Bien said the birth of the VCIDA comes in line with the nation’s development as the cultural industry is gradually asserting its role in the economy.
The association is expected to transform culture into a special commodity, bringing profits to the country and spreading the image of Vietnamese culture to the world.
Its goal is to promote the role of culture as a national soft power, converting it into an important internal strength for the sustainable development of the knowledge economy.
