Viet Nam, Laos vow to strengthen coordination at UN

Ambassador Thongphane Savanphet, Permanent Representative of Laos to the United Nations, has praised the close and reliable coordination between the Lao and Vietnamese missions, expressing his wish for even stronger and more effective cooperation in the future.

On the occasion of Viet Nam’s 80th National Day, Ambassador Savanphet on September 1 extended congratulations and best wishes to Ambassador Do Hung Viet, the staff of the Vietnamese Mission, and their families.

Ambassador Viet, in turn, congratulated Laos on successfully chairing the ASEAN Committee in New York in 2024, and voiced confidence that the country will continue to fulfil its roles as a member of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the UNICEF Executive Board in 2025.

Both sides hailed the development of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between their countries. They pledged to build on the two missions' cooperation results, enhance mutual support, and effectively coordinate in issues of common concern at the UN.
