At the ceremony, emphasising inter-sectoral coordination and long-term investment commitment to ensure the right to protection, care and comprehensive development for all children, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan said that to complete the goals for children, as the theme of this year’s Action Month, it is necessary to identify that success can only be achieved when there is priority and mobilisation of resources in a synchronous, effective and sustainable manner.
Resources are not only finance, but also human resources, infrastructure, equipment, information technology and especially the strong participation of sectors, levels, organisations and the whole society, she noted.
Within the framework of the ceremony, the Organising Committee received funding from many businesses and social organisations to support children in special circumstances nationwide. 100 scholarships worth 1 million VND each, along with many gifts, were awarded to disadvantaged children in Phu Tho Province.
After the launch ceremony, Minister Dao Hong Lan and leaders of ministries, branches and Phu Tho Province attended a series of meaningful activities for children such as: Visiting the area for free health check-ups and psychological counseling for students; giving gifts to sick children at Phu Tho Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital; meeting and giving gifts to children at Phu Tho SOS Children’s Village.
This is a key event, opening a series of practical and humane activities throughout the Action Month for Children this year nationwide to promote attention, investment and specific actions from all levels, sectors and the whole society for a better future for Vietnamese children.
Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Tho Province emphasised that the Action Month for Children is not only an annual event, but also a reminder of the responsibility of each family, each organisation and individual in cultivating the best conditions for future generations and a safe, loving and humane living environment is the greatest gift for children - the precious seeds of the nation.
The Action Month for Children, an annual activity held in June every year, is an opportunity for the whole society to work together to promote caring for, educating and protecting children.
