According to the agenda of the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly, on the morning of May 22, the National Assembly will hold a plenary session at the hall to hear the submission and verification report on the draft resolution of the National Assembly on the universalisation of preschool education for children aged 3 to 5.
The National Assembly also heard the submission and verification report on the draft resolution of the National Assembly on the exemption and support of tuition fees for preschool children, general education pupils, and learners in the general education programme at educational institutions within the national education system.
Following that, the National Assembly will organise a discussion in the hall on the amended Law on Inspection project. Government Inspector-General Doan Hong Phong delivered an explanatory speech to clarify several issues raised by National Assembly deputies.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly held group discussions on the two aforementioned draft resolutions, as well as on the draft resolution of the National Assembly regarding the extension of the exemption period for agricultural land use tax, as stipulated in Resolution No. 55/2010/QH12 of the National Assembly on the exemption and reduction of agricultural land use tax, which has been amended and supplemented by Resolution No. 28/2016/QH14 and Resolution No. 107/2020/QH14.
Previously, at the session on February 28 to assess the initial implementation of the summary review in the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Central Executive Committee, after hearing the Government’s report on the feasibility of financial balancing during and after the streamlining of the political system's organisational apparatus, the Politburo decided to implement full tuition exemption for pupils from preschool to the end of public upper secondary education nationwide.
The implementation period will begin from the start of the 2025–2026 academic year (from September 2025 onwards).
The Politburo assigned the Party Committee of the Government to direct the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Finance, certain relevant ministries and sectors, and localities to concretise and seriously implement the aforementioned decision.
