The delegation laid flowers at the memorial stele dedicated to Nhan Dan Newspaper in Khuon Dien Hamlet, Tan Trao Commune, Tuyen Quang Province. The Editorial Board of Nhan Dan Newspaper lived and worked here from September 1953 to July 1954, marking a period of hardship yet glory for generations of Party journalists during the resistance war.
During this period, the newspaper regularly published issues reflecting domestic and international developments, conveying the voice of the Party and Government to officials, Party members, and soldiers nationwide, thereby contributing to the victory of the resistance war against French colonialism.
In a solemn atmosphere, leaders of Nhan Dan Newspaper offered incense in tribute to the predecessors who laid the foundations for the newspaper’s development.
The delegation later presented gifts and provided free health check-ups for local residents at the centre of Tan Trao Commune. The programme was supported by a team of doctors from the Ha Noi Young Physicians Association.
Speaking at the event, Nhan Dan Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh emphasised that throughout its 75 years of development, Nhan Dan Newspaper has consistently remained a leading flagbearer of Viet Nam’s revolutionary press.
Amid the numerous challenges currently facing press agencies, Nhan Dan Newspaper continues to maintain its leading position with a range of publications that have been sustained and developed, including the daily Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Nhan Dan electronic newspaper, and other publications.
In recent years, the newspaper has introduced various innovations in distribution, branding, and institutional development, while also actively engaging in social welfare activities.
Throughout its development, generations of Nhan Dan Newspaper’s journalists have always remembered the contributions of their predecessors and expressed deep gratitude to the people of the revolutionary homeland of Tan Trao for their support during the years of resistance.
At the programme, Nhan Dan Newspaper presented 100 million VND to support Tan Trao Commune in implementing social welfare programmes and delivered 250 gift packages to policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households in the commune.
Doctors from the Ha Noi Young Physicians Association also conducted medical examinations, health consultations, and free medicine distribution for 500 local residents in Tan Trao Commune.
During their visit, the delegation also offered incense and flowers at several historical sites in Tan Trao Commune, including Na Nua Shack, Tan Trao Communal House, the President Ho Chi Minh Statue in Tan Trao, and the Memorial Site dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh and revolutionary predecessors.
