Speaking at the working session, Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, and President of the Viet Nam Journalists Association, said the relationship between the Viet Nam Journalists Association and the Journalists Association of Korea has been increasingly consolidated, developed, and strengthened through many exchange and cooperation activities.
Viet Nam has always regarded the Republic of Korea as a country with a developed press and wishes to learn more from Korean colleagues.
“In Viet Nam, the proportion of people accessing and using traditional press products remains relatively high. However, we are not complacent because of that. Vietnamese journalism must continue to renew itself and find more suitable, effective, and attractive ways of providing information and communication to the public,” Le Quoc Minh shared.
The leader of the Viet Nam Journalists Association said cooperation between journalist associations should not be limited to professional activities such as conferences, workshops, or exchanges of expertise but should be expanded to many other fields to strengthen exchanges, mutual understanding, and sentiments among journalists.
According to Park Jong Hyun, President of the Journalists Association of Korea, looking at Viet Nam today, the Korean side clearly feels that Viet Nam is developing at a very rapid pace, similar to what the Republic of Korea once experienced. Press agencies of the two countries are facing major changes in the media environment, requiring them to proactively adapt and renew themselves. Through this visit, Park Jong Hyun said he hoped to learn more experience from Viet Nam.
“In the past, we typically had the opportunity to visit Viet Nam every two years. However, recently, thanks to the warm reception and sincere invitations from the Vietnamese side, we have had more opportunities to meet and exchange. In the coming time, we will find a suitable time to invite you to visit the Republic of Korea, thereby continuing to strengthen exchanges, share experience, and further tighten cooperation between press agencies of the two countries,” Park Jong Hyun shared.
Visits and exchange activities between the two sides are expected to contribute to deepening cooperation between the Viet Nam Journalists Association and the Journalists Association of Korea, thereby strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between journalists of the two countries. They also provide an opportunity to promote the culture and tourism of both countries.
