International journalists covering 14th National Party Congress visit Nhan Dan Newspaper

Leaders of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper hosted a meeting at the newspaper’s headquarters in Ha Noi on the morning of January 21 for a delegation of foreign journalists from newspapers of communist parties, political parties holding important positions in their countries, media outlets of the overseas Vietnamese community, and international news agencies who have come to Viet Nam to cover the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV).

The meeting was chaired by the Newspaper’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief Phan Van Hung.

While briefing the delegates on the history of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vu Mai Hoang, Head of the Technology Department and Chair of the Newspaper’s Journalists’ Association, informed that Nhan Dan Newspaper, the central organ of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the voice of the Party, State and People of Viet Nam, published its first issue on March 11, 1951, in the Viet Bac revolutionary base during the anti-French Resistance War.

Over its 75-year development, Nhan Dan Newspaper has stood on the frontlines to safeguard the nation, serving as the voice of the Party and State and a trustworthy forum of the people, contributing to disseminating and encouraging the implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.

Nhan Dan Newspaper has established friendly and co-operative relations with numerous newspapers around the world.

Ngo Viet Anh, Director of the Media Development Centre, shared insights into the digital transformation strategy of Nhan Dan Newspaper since 2021, which has helped to position the newspaper as one of leading multi-media press agencies in Viet Nam.

The newspaper has employed artificial intelligence (AI) in its operations and ranked in the top 10 central press agencies for outstanding digital transformation in 2024.

In recent years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has continuously implemented special media projects to mark major national anniversaries and significant national events, including the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

These campaigns, which utilised a highly interactive way of conveying history to readers, have generated a strong social impact, particularly among the youth.

Introducing Nhan Dan Newspaper's most recent media campaign, Nguyen Hoang Nhat, Deputy Head of the Nhan Dan Online Department, introduced the delegates to the website “Communist Party of Viet Nam – 14th National Congress”.

The website is designed as not only a digital handbook but also the most extensive and largest data journalism channel to date on the national congresses of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

During the working session, leaders from Nhan Dan Newspaper exchanged useful, practical views with the foreign reporters' delegation on many issues, such as the application of Marxism-Leninism to practice, overseas Vietnamese affairs, the fight against fake news, and strategies for developing print newspapers amid the strong growth of social media.

The international journalists expressed their thanks to Nhan Dan Newspaper for its warm reception, and expressed their honour at visiting the press organ of the Communist Party of Viet Nam during the 14th National Congress. They also voiced deep impressions of the newspaper's innovations in recent times.

On behalf of Nhan Dan Newspaper's leadership, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Phan Van Hung welcomed and thanked the journalists for coming to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 14th Party Congress, a political event holding special historical significance for the country.

He expressed his hope that the delegates will have a fruitful working trip in Viet Nam and take their time to explore the country’s culture and landscape.

On the occasion of New Year 2026 – the Year of the Horse, he conveyed his best greetings to the delegates and their families for a new year of peace and prosperity.
