During his meeting with Oscar Manuel Silvera Martinez, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the positive development of the traditional friendship and special cooperation between Viet Nam and Cuba. They also exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest in the fields of law and justice.
Minister Hoang Thanh Tung reaffirmed that Viet Nam always attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Cuba, particularly in sharing experience in developing and improving legal systems, advancing judicial reform, and training legal professionals.
The two sides also agreed to continue promoting delegation exchanges and professional experience-sharing activities, thereby deepening cooperation between the legal and judicial institutions of the two countries.
On the same day, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, Minister Hoang Thanh Tung met with Chinese Vice-Minister of Justice Li Mingzheng.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the enduring friendship and increasingly practical and effective cooperation between Viet Nam and China, as well as collaboration between the two countries’ justice ministries.
Minister Hoang Thanh Tung noted that he had recently held talks with Chinese Ambassador to Viet Nam He Wei, during which both sides reached broad consensus on a number of priorities for enhanced cooperation.
These include the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two justice ministries on strengthening cooperation in resolving civil and commercial disputes involving border residents, as well as the 2026–2027 Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Justice of China.
The Minister Hoang Thanh Tung added that during his meeting with Ambassador He Wei, both sides also agreed to maintain the effectiveness of the Conference Mechanism of Justice Authorities of Viet Nam-China Border Provinces; strengthen mutual learning and exchanges of experience in building a socialist rule-of-law state; establish a Mekong–Lancang Cooperation Exchange Mechanism in the fields of law and justice; and promote training and human resource development in the legal and judicial sectors.
