The seminar formed part of a series of preparatory activities for upcoming events within the framework of Viet Nam Smart Factory Expo 2026 (VSE 2026) and the Viet Nam Hardware Fair 2026 (VHF 2026), scheduled to take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City from June 24 to 26, 2026.
Speaking at the event, Le Thi Minh Anh, Head of Creative Space Development at the National Innovation Centre (NIC), said the seminar served as an important preparatory step, providing a platform for enterprises, associations, and experts to exchange views openly and shape concrete solutions for VSE and VHF 2026.
Through the event, NIC aims to support businesses in grasping national orientations, accessing advanced technologies, and preparing to integrate more deeply into global value chains.
According to Minh Anh, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the transition to smart manufacturing is a vital requirement. The global smart manufacturing market is projected to reach approximately 790 billion USD by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14%.
In line with strategic policies of the Party and the State — particularly Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation — Viet Nam is accelerating the development of smart factories and supporting industries as national priorities.
At the event, Nguyen Nhu Chinh, Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam Clean Energy Association (VCEA), emphasised that the seminar was not only a specialised forum but also a strategic link connecting manufacturing technology solutions with sustainable energy trends—an essential factor enabling businesses to modernise and achieve breakthroughs.
He also stressed that manufacturing enterprises should place greater emphasis on clean energy, viewing it as an integral component of factory upgrading roadmaps. The convergence of “manufacturing technology” and “clean energy”, he noted, would create a synergistic driving force to elevate the “Made in Viet Nam” brand sustainably on the global stage.
Viet Nam Smart Factory Expo 2026 (VSE 2026) and the Viet Nam Hardware Fair 2026 (VHF 2026) are expected to take place at SECC in Ho Chi Minh City from June 24 to 26, 2026. With a scale of up to 500 booths across 8,800 square metres, the exhibitions are expected to attract more than 14,000 trade visitors and representatives from 30 countries and territories.
During the in-depth discussion session, speakers focused on trends in automation, the application of Industry 4.0 technologies, green transformation, supply chain connectivity, and practical solutions to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises. They also expressed confidence that Viet Nam will have greater opportunities to strengthen its strategic foundation, mobilise resources, attract high-quality foreign direct investment, and further affirm the position of its industrial sector on the global map.
