The Viet Nam-Sweden children’s film week is a joint activity between the Viet Nam Film Institute and the Embassy of Sweden. The programme aims to introduce and promote outstanding cinematic works on children’s themes from Viet Nam and Sweden to audiences.
The programme aims to strengthen cultural exchange and cooperation between Viet Nam and Sweden through cinema, contributing to aesthetic education, nurturing the soul and developing creativity among children through films rich in humanistic values.
The film week will take place from June 1 to 5 at Ngoc Khanh Cinema, Viet Nam Film Institute, 523 Kim Ma, Giang Vo, Ha Noi.
Fourteen children’s films, including three Swedish films and 11 Vietnamese films, will be screened during the film week.
The two opening films are “Serves the Fox Right” (Vietnamese animated film) and “Pippi Longstocking” (Swedish feature film).
Within the framework of the film week, the Viet Nam Film Institute, in collaboration with Kim Dong Publishing House, will introduce books and organise quizzes (mini-games) related to the film Pippi Longstocking in order to create a healthy and beneficial cultural playground for children.
At the opening ceremony on June 1, Kim Dong Publishing House will introduce to the public the Vietnamese edition of the famous work written by author Astrid Lindgren and adapted into film, including four comic books about little Pippi: “Do You Know Pippi?”, “Pippi Goes Shopping”, “Pippi on the Strange Island”, and “Pippi Saves Christmas”.
The Viet Nam-Sweden Children’s Film Week is an opportunity for children to access various forms of art, from literature to cinema. The physical and intellectual games in the programme not only bring joyful and meaningful moments of entertainment but also help stimulate children’s creativity and their ability to absorb knowledge naturally.
