Minister Le Hoai Trung proposed that the two sides coordinate in arranging and preparing high-level exchanges, while strengthening party-to-party ties, relations between the two countries’ legislatures, and cooperation between their ministries and agencies.
He also called for greater information exchange and stronger business connectivity to translate political will and cooperation potential into concrete outcomes.
The minister expressed his hope that Viet Nam and Uruguay would further leverage their bridging roles and support each other in strengthening relations with regional organisations and mechanisms such as CELAC, MERCOSUR, and ASEAN, while also serving as gateways connecting Southeast Asia and Latin America.
For her part, Uruguayan Deputy Foreign Minister Valeria Csukasi Cabrera affirmed that Uruguay attaches special importance to developing relations of strategic significance with Viet Nam.
She fully agreed with the orientations outlined by Minister Le Hoai Trung and affirmed Uruguay’s readiness to work with Viet Nam to elevate bilateral relations through concrete steps, while closely coordinating with Viet Nam to advance inter-regional cooperation.
