Vietnam and Laos seek ways to effectively apply technologies for rapid development

An international workshop on effectively mobilising and using capital and technology to ensure rapid and sustainable development in Vietnam and Laos was held in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on June 29.

The workshop was jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, and the Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences.

The event received the attention of scientists from both countries, with 40 articles focusing on the key topics of the workshop.

After the opening ceremony, the workshop featured three thematic sessions with a combination of presentations at the Hall and a roundtable discussion.

At the event, the delegates focused on analyzing and evaluating the main contents of capital mobilisation, technology use and experience, lessons on capital mobilisation and use of technology, to ensure socioeconomic in the two countries.

They all agreed that Vietnam and Laos need to strengthen investment cooperation and enhance the exchange of lessons learned in macroeconomic management between the two countries, especially in the planning and implementation of economic policies of each country.

It is also necessary to continue to implement the multilateral cooperation agreement between the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during the 2021-2025 period.
