This is not only an annual trade promotion event but also a key and decisive measure aimed at stimulating domestic consumption, supporting businesses and contributing to the Government’s target of achieving full-year GDP growth of 8% or higher.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Director General Vu Ba Phu affirmed that Vietnam Grand Sale 2025 is a concrete action in implementing Government Resolution 25/NQ-CP and Prime Minister’s Directive 18/CT-TTg, aiming to carry out synchronised and decisive measures for developing the domestic market and boosting consumption.
The most notable highlight of the programme is that from December 1, 2025 to January 18, 2026, all traders across all economic sectors may apply the maximum discount rate for goods and consumer services of up to 100%. This means that businesses are allowed to offer the most attractive price reductions and promotions without being restricted by the usual 50% cap.
“Through the Vietnam Grand Sale 2025, we hope to create a ‘special shopping season’ that closely combines traditional commerce with e-commerce, enabling consumers to access quality goods at the best prices. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for businesses to promote their brands, respond to the campaign ‘Vietnamese People Prioritise Vietnamese Goods’, and attract international tourists through shopping events combined with culture and festivals,” Director General Vu Ba Phu stressed.
Vo Nguyen Phong, Director of the Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade, also noted that under the close direction of Ha Noi authorities and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ha Noi’s Promotion Month has achieved remarkable results. The city mobilised nearly 1,000 points of sale and more than 1,500 participating enterprises. The number of direct shoppers exceeded 50,000, with millions of online transactions recorded.
Revenues of retail systems increased by 150%–200% compared to normal days. Several product categories such as electronics, fashion and household goods grew by 200%–300% during peak promotion hours. The “Ha Noi Midnight Sale” model, offering discounts of up to 70%–100%, has become a distinctive brand of the city during its stimulus season. E-commerce platforms reported a 25%–40% rise in orders from Ha Noi, reaffirming the strong growth of e-commerce and digital consumer behaviour.
From the business community, Doan Thi Huong Thanh, Head of Legal Affairs of WinCommerce General Trading Services JSC, reported that in response to Vietnam Grand Sale 2025, the company has prepared a series of large-scale and synchronised promotional programmes across its entire system. A typical example is the “Festival of Joy, Big Celebration” campaign in December, offering over 1,000 daily discounted products — up to 50% off, buy-one-get-one, buy-two-get-one on fresh food, essential goods and other items — to meet rising year-end and Lunar New Year 2026 shopping demand.
With strategic innovations and coordinated participation from central to local levels, Vietnam Grand Sale 2025 is expected to create a “special shopping season”, not only increasing retail sales of goods and service revenues but also establishing a solid foundation that contributes decisively to the robust growth of Viet Nam’s economy in 2025.
