Directed by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the festival was organised by the Department of Foreign Affairs of Da Nang City in coordination with the Consular Office of Japan in Da Nang and local Japanese authorities as well as agencies, organisations and enterprises of the two countries.
Before the opening ceremony, the delegates, residents and visitors attending the event observed a minute of silence to express their deep condolences to the family of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the Government and people of Japan.
The 2022 Vietnam – Japan Festival in Da Nang City, with many outstanding activities such as displaying 70 booths from domestic and foreign organisations and units to introduce the culture, tourism, trade and cuisine of the two countries, as well as information on education and studying abroad.
An art programmes introduces the unique cultural and artistic features of Vietnam and Japan such as Vietnamese Tuong art, Japanese calligraphy, traditional and contemporary dance, Vietnamese martial arts performances, and Japanese culinary arts.
The festival runs until the end of July 17 with many attractive companion activities, such as: an exhibition of traditional Japanese dolls; an exhibition of paintings by Vietnamese-Japanese preschool students; a football exchange day between Da Nang youths and Kawasaki Frontale Club; and a workshop connecting tourism businesses.
Coming to this festival, people and visitors have an opportunity to learn more about the unique cultures of Vietnam and Japan, enjoy and experience culinary culture, and learn about scholarship programs in Japan.
