The list is built based on eight categories: cost of living, fitting in, health care, climate, buying and renting, benefits and discounts, infrastructure, and entertainment and amenities.
According to the website, Vietnam ranks 25th with a total score of 67.3/100. Notably, the country received a top score of 100/100 in the cost of living.
Ecuador tops the list of best retirement havens thanks to the generous array of benefits the government affords to retirees, the low cost of living, world-class medical facilities and ease of integration. It is followed by Panama, Mexico, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Spain, Malta and others.
Vietnam's neighbours, Thailand and Cambodia, ranked tenth and 24th. Malaysia ranked as the top country in Asia in which to retire in 2015, ranking fourth overall.
