The passengers included children, senior citizens, sick people and those whose visas and labour contracts had expired.
VNA collected passengers at Stockholm and Helsinki using a Boeing 787-10 aircraft with a larger-than-usual crew of six pilots and 16 flight attendants as well as ground services and technical staff since the above cities are not regular destinations of the national flagship.
During the flight, all passengers and crew members wore full-body protective suits and had their body temperature checked while hot meals were not served to prevent coronavirus transmission through food utensils.
After the aircraft landed in Hanoi, all passengers were transported to quarantine centres while the aircraft was sprayed with disinfectant.
In the future, domestic agencies, diplomatic missions and VNA will continue arranging flights to bring Vietnamese citizens home based on their wishes, the quarantine capacity at home and the prevailing coronavirus situation.
