The Border Guard Command of Binh Phuoc Province signed a memorandum of understanding with the border protection forces of Cambodia's Tboung Khmum and Kratie provinces.

This activity reviews the coordination between the parties in ensuring security, protecting and managing border areas and combating cross-border crimes.

At the meeting, the parties discussed and agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on future cooperation.

The two sides discussed the border security situation and border management while proposing orientations and measures to jointly manage and protect the border in the coming time towards a common borderline of peace, friendship, and cooperation for mutual development between the two countries.

The two sides agreed to continue implementing the memorandum of understanding among the border protection forces, focusing on maintaining coordination and border protection management following agreements, protocols, press releases of the two governments, and related accords.

Previously, on September 19, in Cambodia's Tboung Khmum Province, Binh Phuoc Provincial Police and Tay Ninh Provincial Police attended a conference on cooperation in preventing and combating crimes in border areas with Tboung Khmum Provincial Police.

At the conference, they signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance the direction of continued cooperation and information exchange on border security and order and the activities of hostile forces, international terrorist organisations and law-breaking subjects of each country.

To enhance cooperation activities, the parties agreed to step up communication to advise people living along the border on both sides to understand the border regulations and other agreements signed by the two governments, thereby raising the awareness of the people of the two countries in jointly protecting security and order in the border area.

In particular, the two sides also agreed to strengthen communication and education on the harmful effects of drugs to raise people's understanding, contributing to building a drug-free border area.
