All eight of the Vietnamese students attending the 2024 Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) have won medals, as announced the Ministry of Education and Training on June 9.

Than The Cong, a 12th grader from Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students in Bac Giang Province, bagged a gold medal; while Ha Duyen Phuc, another 12th grader of Lam Son High School for the Gifted in Thanh Hoa Province, earned a silver medal.

Meanwhile, six bronze medals went to Nguyen Nhat Minh, Nguyen Thanh Duy, Truong Phi Hung, Hoang Tuan Kiet, Nguyen The Quan, and Tran Vu Le Hoang.

Taking place Malaysia from June 3-10, the 2024 APhO witnessed the competition of 208 contestants from 28 teams from 27 countries and territories.

This is the first time Malaysia hosted the event, which attracted the largest number of competing teams to date.

At the 2023 contest, all eight of the participating Vietnamese students had also brought home honours, with four bronze medals and four certificates of merit.
