Vietnamese writer honoured with China's Dianchi Literary Awards

Vietnamese writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu has just been honoured at the 2024 Dianchi Literature Awards ceremony, organised by Dianchi Literature Magazine in Yunnan Province (China).

According to writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu, the Dianchi Literature Awards have been held for the 20th time. Each year, Dianchi Literature Magazine votes for works that were published in the magazine over the previous year to honour.

This year, Dianchi Literature Magazine has selected three short stories from the short story collection "Co Dinh Mot Dam May" (Anchored the cloud) by writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu (published by Phanbook and Da Nang Publishing House in 2018) to present the "Best Southeast Asian Literature of 2024" Award.

"Co Dinh Mot Dam May" is a collection of 10 short stories by author Nguyen Ngoc Tu.

In addition to the medal, the winner also receives a cash prize of 8,000 yuan (equivalent to 28 million VND).

Earlier, in 2018, writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu was the first female Vietnamese writer to win the Liberaturpreis 2018, as voted by Litprom — the Society for the Promotion of Literature from Africa, Asia and Latin America in Frankfurt (Germany).
