The event featured the participation of around 80 guests, including Vietnamese friends of India, members of the Indian community, and representatives from prominent organisations such as the Vietnam Writers' Association (VWA), the Vietnam-India Friendship Organisation of Hanoi (HAVIFA), the Department of Indian Studies, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), and the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM).
Speaking at the celebration, Ambassador of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya mentioned the message from Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, emphasising Hindi as a bridge between past and future, Hindi’s role in preserving cultural heritage and promoting unity, and the use of digital tools to increase its use, particularly among the youth.
The ambassador also highlighted the SVCC’s endeavours to promote Hindi learning, noted growing number of Vietnamese students of Hindi language and encouraged the diaspora and Vietnamese members to use opportunities to deepen their understanding of India, its variety and culture.
He further encouraged the endeavours of the Indian and Vietnamese communities in promoting Hindi, fostering mutual understanding, and strengthening India-Vietnam ties through cultural and linguistic exchanges.
The occasion also saw the launch of Hindarshika - Part II, a publication featuring Vietnamese transliteration of the Hindi language, short stories, etc., coordinated by SVCC Director Dr Monica Sharma.
In addition, the celebration included Hindi-based cultural performances such as Hindi songs, poetry, music, etc., were presented by members of the Indian diaspora, Vietnamese friends, and students of SVCC. A video on Maha Kumbh 2025 showcased the depth of Indian tradition and spirituality.
