Speaking at the opening ceremony, Zhang Deshan, Director of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Ha Noi, said that through this tea culture exchange and tourism promotion activity, Viet Nam and China would gain new platforms for cooperation and expand exchange channels, helping Vietnamese friends gain a deeper understanding of Guangxi as well as the culture and customs of Baise City, thereby contributing to strengthening ties between the peoples of the two countries.

Within the framework of the programme, the Chinese Cultural Centre in Ha Noi and the Baise cultural-tourism delegation introduced many distinctive features of Zhuang ethnic culture, revolutionary historical sites and high-quality ecological tea products from China.

The organisers arranged four experiential spaces, including a tea culture exchange area, an intangible cultural heritage experience area, a culture-tourism exhibition area and a Guangxi culinary tasting area.

Guangxi is renowned for its distinctive natural landscapes, rich cultural life and important role in exchange and cooperation between China and Viet Nam as well as ASEAN.

Baise City in Guangxi, which borders Cao Bang and Tuyen Quang Provinces of Viet Nam, possesses a profound revolutionary tradition and rich ethnic cultural identity. The locality is also one of the representative tea-producing regions of southwest China, featuring a mild climate and picturesque scenery.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Tourism, said that China is currently the largest source market for Viet Nam’s tourism sector. In 2025, Viet Nam welcomed more than 5.28 million Chinese visitors, accounting for around 25% of the country’s total international arrivals.

In the first four months of 2026, the number of Chinese visitors to Ha Noi exceeded 272,000, up 59% year-on-year. These positive figures demonstrate the substantial potential for tourism cooperation and visitor exchanges between Ha Noi and Chinese localities, while also affirming Ha Noi’s attractiveness to Chinese tourists and the strong recovery of tourism exchanges between the two countries.

The cultural and tourism promotion programme in Ha Noi by Baise City not only serves as an opportunity to showcase the locality’s nature, culture, cuisine and people, but also contributes to promoting increasingly substantive and effective tourism and cultural cooperation between Ha Noi and Baise.

Ha Noi hopes to continue strengthening connections with Chinese localities in order to develop distinctive tourism products, expand visitor exchanges and create favourable conditions for the peoples of the two countries to learn about history, engage in cultural exchanges and explore each nation’s distinctive traditional values.

At the programme, the organisers introduced Guangxi (Baise)’s tourism resources and announced tourism routes connecting Viet Nam with Baise City.
