This marked the first time that organisers had designed a separate programme specifically for school pupils within the framework of the Vietnamese Language and Culture Festival — a meaningful expansion aimed at bringing the image of Viet Nam closer to younger generations in Russia.
The programme was jointly organised by the Embassy of Viet Nam in Russia, the Saint Petersburg Committee for External Relations, the “Tradition and Friendship” Fund, and the Viet Nam Education Publishing House.
A distinctive feature of the programme lay not only in its diverse cultural elements but also in the fact that Russian pupils and students themselves performed many Vietnamese artistic acts with enthusiasm and sincere affection for the “S-shaped land”.
In addition to enjoying artistic performances, the pupils directly participated in various Vietnamese cultural experience activities and joined interactive question-and-answer sessions about the country and people of Viet Nam in a lively and exciting atmosphere.
Speaking at the event on behalf of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Russia, Dr Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa stressed that introducing Viet Nam to school pupils carried special significance because “this is the age at which worldviews are formed and also the time when young people begin making choices for their future.”
According to Dr Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa, direct experiences of Vietnamese culture, people, and language would help students understand Viet Nam not only through books but also through genuine emotions and meaningful human connections.
Following its positive impact, the programme for school pupils is expected to become an annual activity and a meaningful highlight of future Vietnamese Language and Culture Festivals in Russia.
