Accordingly, the route will be increased from 3 to 4 flights per week. In addition to the current flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the airline will add one more flight on Sundays, using modern wide-body Boeing 787 aircraft.
This frequency increase is being implemented amid a clear recovery in the Viet Nam–Russia market. In 2025, the number of Russian visitors to Viet Nam reached approximately 690,000, nearly three times higher than the previous year.
In the first two months of 2026, the number of visitors reached approximately 246,000, three times higher than the same period. The total number of passengers travelling by air between the two countries has also increased significantly, surpassing pre-Covid-19 levels.
Nguyen Quang Trung, Deputy General Director of Viet Nam Airlines, stated that “The airline will continue to closely monitor market developments to adjust its operational plans appropriately for each period, while strictly ensuring all flight safety standards. The flexible adjustment and increase in frequency on international routes not only help maintain operational efficiency but also ensure smooth operations on key routes, especially in the European market, thereby strengthening connectivity between Viet Nam and the region and the world.”
Currently, Viet Nam Airlines maintains Viet Nam–Europe connections on 11 direct routes using a fleet of wide-body Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft. From June 16, the airline is expected to launch a direct route between Ha Noi and Amsterdam, further expanding operations in the Western European market.
The increase in frequency on the Ha Noi–Moscow route, along with the expansion of the European network, demonstrates Viet Nam Airlines’ consistent operational direction in developing its route network.
As the national flag carrier, Viet Nam Airlines maintains key international routes, contributing to ensuring seamless connectivity between Viet Nam and the world, thereby supporting trade, tourism, and international integration.
