Passengers travelling on the Hue-Phong Nha heritage service will also be eligible for discounts of 5-15% at selected travel agencies, restaurants and accommodation establishments in Quang Tri Province.
During the launch week, passengers can take part in cultural activities, including hands-on preparation of local specialities under the guidance of culinary artisans. Interactive games and mini-games will also be held, with souvenirs offered as prizes.
The trains feature modern amenities combined with distinctive cultural elements of central Viet Nam. Flexible rotating seats allow passengers to adjust their seating direction to enjoy views of the landscape throughout the journey.
The service includes a 24-seat VIP carriage, a community carriage for folk music performances, local cuisine and OCOP-certified speciality products, and a multi-purpose entertainment carriage. The latter, described as a first for Viet Nam’s railway sector, features a cinema, massage chairs, an ao dai rental service for photography and check-ins, and on-the-spot suit tailoring.
The approximately 190km route connects Hue, Dong Ha, My Trach, Dong Hoi and Tho Loc stations, with the full journey taking more than four hours.
The service is expected to strengthen links between tourism hubs and cultural and historical destinations in central Viet Nam, while giving visitors another way to explore the region’s World Heritage sites and distinctive landscapes.
