The Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee has issued a document to relevant departments and localities regarding free admission to scenic attractions, historical sites and cultural facilities that normally charge entrance fees across the city on National Day, September 2.
Earlier, on August 18, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism submitted Proposal No. 18/TTr-SVHTTDL, requesting the municipal People’s Committee’s approval for free admission to scenic attractions, historical sites and cultural facilities that normally charge entrance fees across the city on National Day, September 2, to meet the sightseeing needs of residents and tourists.
Under the newly issued document, along with approving the free admission policy, the municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead and coordinate with the Department of Finance to provide guidance to relevant units on implementation, ensuring that the policy is applied to the right beneficiaries and implemented publicly and transparently in accordance with regulations; and to report to the municipal People’s Committee for directions on matters beyond its authority, if any.
In addition, the city assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead and coordinate with the Department of Finance and relevant agencies and units to review and advise the city on the issuance of principles, criteria and mechanisms for free admission to scenic attractions, historical sites and cultural facilities that charge entrance fees and are managed by the city on national and city holidays and during important events of the country and the capital. The proposed principles, criteria and mechanisms for free admission must comply with legal regulations and the relevant authorities’ jurisdiction, with completion required in 2026.
During long public holidays, Ha Noi becomes an attractive tourist destination for large numbers of domestic and international visitors.
During the upcoming five-day National Day holiday, the city’s historical sites, scenic attractions, tourist destinations and tourist areas have prepared a range of attractive cultural, artistic and entertainment activities to meet the sightseeing, recreational and entertainment needs of capital residents as well as tourists.
