The Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports has announced the continuation of free entry to 17 important historical and landscape sites across the city from February 20 to 22 (the fourth to the sixth day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse), allowing residents and tourists to visit and enjoy the remaining days of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
The list of city-managed scenic spots, historical relics, and cultural sites that are free during this period includes: the Thang Long Imperial Citadel; the Temple of Literature–Quoc Tu Giam; Ngoc Son Temple; Hoa Lo Prison Relic; Co Loa Relic Site; Huong Son Scenic and Relic Complex (Huong Pagoda); the relic site at No. 22 Hang Buom Street; the Heritage House at No. 87 Ma May Street; Ha Noi Museum; Bach Ma Temple (No. 76 Hang Buom Street); Kim Ngan Communal House (No. 42–44 Hang Bac); Quan De Temple (No. 28 Hang Buom Street); Ha Noi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Centre (No. 50 Dao Duy Tu Street); Quan Thanh Temple; Duong Lam Ancient Village; Thay Pagoda; and Tay Phuong Pagoda.
The waiver of entry fees to these sites aims to create favourable conditions for residents and visitors to enjoy leisure activities during the Tet holiday while stimulating tourism demand in Ha Noi.
Previously, several sites across Ha Noi had already offered free entry for three days (from the 29th day of the twelfth lunar month of the Year of the Snake to the second day of the Lunar New Year of the Horse), including some sites in the Old Quarter and the Huong Son Scenic and Relic Complex. Ha Noi Museum will continue to offer free entry until March 2026.
According to the Ha Noi Department of Tourism, during the five days of the Lunar New Year holiday of the Horse 2026 from February 14 to 18 (the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month of the Year of the Snake to the second day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse), the capital welcomed an estimated 593,700 visitors, up 11.7% compared with the same period in 2025.
Of these, international tourists reached an estimated 111,200, an increase of 51.4% year on year, while domestic visitors totalled approximately 482,500, up 5.4%.
Total tourism revenue was estimated at 2,231 billion VND, up 19.8% compared with the same period in 2025, reflecting the increasing appeal of the capital’s tourism sector during the early spring season.
In the final days of the Tet holiday, Ha Noi is expected to continue welcoming large numbers of visitors for sightseeing, leisure, and spring travel.
