The programme was attended by representatives of the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City; the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO); Indian travel, tourism, and service businesses; and representatives of departments, sectors, the Tourism Association, and tourism enterprises of Lam Dong Province.
Speaking at the programme, Vo Thanh Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong Province, said the locality possesses many advantages, with the convergence of the sea, highlands, forests, lakes, geology, and diverse cultural values. This provides a foundation for the province to form a connected tourism ecosystem and develop high-quality, sustainable, and internationally integrated products in resort tourism, ecotourism, culture, healthcare, agriculture, and MICE.
For Lam Dong, India is a market with rich potential and ample room for development. In 2025, the province welcomed around 9,000 Indian visitors, and about 6,000 in the first six months of 2026. These results show that demand and cooperation opportunities between the two sides are becoming increasingly clear.
“What Lam Dong is interested in is not only increasing visitor numbers but also gaining a deeper understanding of market demand in order to create suitable, quality, and competitive products. Lam Dong gives priority to segments such as resort tourism, wedding tourism, MICE, healthcare, and Halal tourism, while gradually improving service quality and human resources for international visitors,” Huy suggested.
Kukunuru Ranga Readdy, head of the Indian delegation and Director of Garuda Tourism, said that through the survey in Lam Dong, the delegation highly appreciated the diversity of tourism and service products, the beautiful natural landscapes and accommodation facilities, and the potential to develop product lines suitable for the Indian market.
He also offered frank comments on several issues that need to be addressed to improve the quality of tourism and services in Lam Dong Province, while expressing the hope that following the survey, more specific tour programmes and routes would be developed for the two sides to cooperate and grow together.
At the programme, delegates and tourism-service businesses from Lam Dong Province and Indian partners exchanged information and discussed cooperation in tourism and service development. Partners from both sides held direct exchanges on market demand, products, services, tour connectivity, two-way tourist exchanges, and cooperation solutions in the coming time.
The activity is part of a programme to welcome a working delegation from India, a key Halal market, to survey tourism products and services in the eastern and central areas of Lam Dong Province from August 10 to 14.
In the coming time, the two sides expect their cooperation programme to focus on three key areas: jointly developing products suitable for the Indian market; strengthening connectivity among enterprises, tours and routes, and tourist exchanges; promoting air connectivity and market promotion; and expanding cooperation in culture, trade, and investment.
