Vietnam’s flag flies in SF on National Day

Vietnam’s Consulate General in San Francisco, the US, and the city authorities jointly held a ceremony to raise up the Vietnamese flag before the Municipal Hall on September 5 to mark the country’s 67th National Day.

Vietnam’s Consul General, Nguyen Ba Hung and San Francisco’s Chief of Protocol, Charlotte Mailliard Schultz, hoisted the flag together.

Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Consulate, Vietnam’s representative offices and the local Vietnamese community.

To mark the occasion, Ms Schultz handed over to Hung San Francisco’s statement declaring that the date September 2, 2012 is now US-Vietnam heritage and friendship day in San Francisco City and County.

The statement was signed by the Mayor of San Francisco, Edwin Lee.
