Vietnam’s Lang Son Province, China’s Pingxiang City promotes cross-border tourism cooperation

A working delegation from Lang Son Province met with authorities from Pingxiang City in Guangxi Province, China to discuss promoting cross-border tourism cooperation at 1090-1091 border markers in the Tan Thanh (Van Lang District, Lang Son, Vietnam) - Puzhai (Guangxi, China) border gate on March 12.

During the discussions, both sides agreed to extend the stay duration for individuals using border passes from one day to two days and one night via the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Youyi Guan (China) border gate and the Tan Thanh (Vietnam) - Puzhai (China) border crossing, pending approval from the relevant authorities.

As part of the working session, representatives from both sides also discussed several key topics, including accelerating the construction of the cross-border tourism cooperation zone; researching and jointly implementing an electronic visa system at the Tan Thanh - Puzhai border crossing; organising self-driving cross-border tourism; developing plans to host cultural, artistic, and sports exchange events between the two sides; creating tourism products and establishing a Lang Son - Pingxiang tourism route, including cultural tourism routes featuring revolutionary historical sites.

The agreement and prompt implementation of these initiatives hold significant importance in promoting tourism, contributing to socio-economic development, and bringing mutual benefits to the people on both sides of the border.

This was one of the activities aimed at concretising the agreements and cooperation between the leaders of Lang Son Province (Vietnam) and the leaders of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), further strengthening exchanges and collaboration across multiple fields, including promoting cross-border tourism.
