The site includes the upper, middle and lower shrines in Minh Quang and Ba Vi communes, built to commemorate ‘Tan Vien Son Thanh’ (the Mountain Saint), one of four immortals in Vietnamese folklore.
Under the project, the infrastructure and other working areas of the shrines will be restored based on their original designs and a 5.5 kilometre road linking the lower and middle shrines will be constructed.
The project has a total capital investment of VND 150 billion (around US$ 7.2 million) contributed by the Him Lam Joint Stock company, the Binh Minh Construction and Tourist JSC, and the Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation.
This is the site's largest scale restoration project on a total of more than 26 hectares.
The site was recognised as a National Cultural Historical site in 2008 and attracts a large number of tourists every year.
