In the capital city of Hanoi, decorations such as banners, posters, and young people in traditional Ao Dai are commonly seen on the streets as the year 2024 comes to a close.
A countdown party will take place at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square near Hoan Kiem Lake from the evening of December 31, 2024 until 12:30am on New Year’s Day.
The event promises an unforgettable night of music and celebration, complete with cutting-edge sound and lighting effects.
A grand music festival will be held from 7:30 PM on December 31 at August Revolution Square in front of the Hanoi Opera House, featuring a dazzling light show and livestream coverage.

Hanoi is set to ring in the New Year 2025 with spectacular firework displays at five locations, including Hoan Kiem, Ha Dong, and Nam Tu Liem districts, as well as Son Tay township and Dong Anh district.
Each location will feature 600 aerial fireworks and 90 ground fireworks during a 15-minute display from midnight to 12:15 AM on January 1, 2025.
In Ho Chi Minh City, there will be firework shows at three locations: a high-altitude display at the Saigon River tunnel in Thu Duc City, and two low-altitude displays at Dam Sen Cultural Park and Van Phuc Urban Area.
These dazzling shows will illuminate the city’s sky from midnight to 12:15 AM on January 1, 2025.
A countdown party in Thu Duc City will feature vibrant music and fireworks, with the main celebration at Saigon Riverside Park from 4 PM on December 31 until 1 AM on January 1.

Another countdown event will also be organised on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street from 8:00 PM on December 31 to midnight January 1, 2025.
The ancient town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province will offer various cultural activities for locals and tourists.
Prominent events include street performances on December 30 and 31 at Kazik Park, along with musical exchanges and a grand party on December 31.
Notably, a music exchange programme entitled ‘Hoi An - Spring and Youth’ and a gala night titled ‘Hoi An Welcomes New Year 2025’ will be organised on the evening of December 31 at Hoi An Park.
The central coastal city of Da Nang will host a countdown event at East Sea Park from the evening of December 31 until 12:30 AM on January 1, featuring a drone light show.
A colourful artistic programme will also be arranged at Tran Thi Ly Bridge Park on New Year's Eve.

Quy Nhon City in the south-central coastal province of Binh Dinh will host a countdown event themed ‘Quy Nhon - Beach Paradise’ from December 31 to January 1.
