The opening of the Spring Festival 2026 marks the start of Ha Noi’s cultural and commercial activities for the year, while creating a meaningful space for residents and visitors to experience the traditional Tet holiday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee, stressed that Spring Festival 2026 is not only a space for people to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet, but also a comprehensive cultural–trade programme that helps stimulate consumption, honour Vietnamese products, and spread the traditional cultural values of the capital city of Ha Noi in a new stage of development.
Organised on a scale of around 20,000 square metres, Spring Festival 2026 features meticulous design, vividly recreating the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere of Ha Noi and regions across the country. Exhibition areas showcasing OCOP products and regional specialties, spaces for experiencing traditional Tet customs, food zones, tourism promotion areas, and displays of harmoniously arranged ornamental plants and Tet flowers, creating a distinctive spring destination that is rich in cultural identity while reflecting contemporary life.
Visitors to the festival have an opportunity to enjoy an immersive Tet experience through activities such as making banh chung, arranging five-fruit trays, requesting calligraphy at the start of the year, traditional handicraft demonstrations, and folk games refreshed with a modern touch.
Beyond being a space for celebrating spring and Tet, the festival also serves as a comprehensive cultural–trade programme that stimulates consumption, honours Vietnamese goods, and promotes the traditional cultural identity of the capital in a new development phase, Vice Chairman Nguyen Manh Quyen reaffirmed.
This year’s festival brings together more than 100 enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments from many provinces and cities, including Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Son La, Nghe An, Quang Nam, and Khanh Hoa. Thousands of Tet products are on display, ranging from agricultural produce, specialty foods and traditional handicrafts to OCOP products rated from three to five stars. All products have clear origins and guaranteed quality, meeting the year-end consumption needs of Ha Noi residents.
A special highlight of the opening night was the celebratory art programme, which created a festive, emotional, and deeply evocative spring atmosphere.
More than just a venue for trade and shopping, Spring Festival 2026 is also a space for residents and visitors to experience, share, and spread cherished traditional cultural values. Creative workshops, art programmes, children’s fashion shows, and folk games reimagined with a contemporary spirit have attracted particular interest from young families and tourists.
Running from February 7 to 14 (from the 20th to the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month), the festival is expected to become a popular cultural and commercial destination in Ha Noi each spring, contributing to consumption stimulation, market stabilisation, and the promotion of an image of the capital as dynamic, creative, and rich in cultural identity.
