Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang Expressway (phase 1) with a length of 104.5km, of which the section passing through Tuyen Quang province is 77km long, is assigned to the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang Province as the investor.
The project is expected to become a fast and convenient transportation axis, overcoming inter-regional traffic congestion from Hanoi through Tuyen Quang Province, to Thanh Thuy international border gate, in Ha Giang.
The Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang Expressway is very important for the economic, social, defence and security development of the northern mountainous region, in general, and the two provinces of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang in particular.
Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang Province, said that the Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressway project, passing through Tuyen Quang Province, has a total investment of 6.8 trillion VND, of which 4.5 trillion VND is from Central budget capital and 2.3 trillion VND from local budget capital.
The project's phase 1 is designed with 2 motor vehicle lanes.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai emphasised that the Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressway project is a key national project of the transportation industry, with vital significance in connecting intra-regionally and inter-regionally, forming an economic development corridor from Hanoi capital and the Red River Delta, to the northern mountainous provinces, along the Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway and Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho expressway to Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang highway.
