Workshop held on preserving ‘Cheo’ art

The workshop, entitled ‘60-years development of Hanoi Cheo Theatre’, drew the participation of researchers, managers and artists working in the field.

The attendees reviewed the history of the Hanoi Cheo Theatre and highly praised the theatre’s efforts to build the popularity of the traditional art of ‘Cheo.’ Methods for opening up the theater to more contemporary audiences, particularly foreign visitors, were also discussed.

In recent years, the Hanoi Cheo Theatre has presented many performances which have greatly impressed and impacted audiences.
