China is pleased to see that the ceasefire consensus between Cambodia and Thailand is being gradually implemented, and 18 detained Cambodian soldiers have returned home safe, a foreign ministry spokesperson said in Beijing on Monday.

* Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodriguez on Sunday held the first cabinet meeting after the capture of President Nicolas Maduro by the United States, state TV reported. A day earlier, the country's top court ordered Rodriguez, Maduro's vice president, to take over as acting president.

* U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened that Venezuelan acting president Delcy Rodríguez could "pay a very big price, probably bigger than" that of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, if she continued to refuse cooperation with the United States.

* Migrants and descendants from across Latin America, joined by Spanish supporters, gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Madrid on Sunday to protest what they described as U.S. interference in Venezuela. Participants carried Latin American flags and chanted slogans in support of the country's sovereignty.

* U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday the Trump administration will continue striking alleged drug boats and seizing sanctioned oil tankers to and from Venezuela.

* The European Union (EU) on Sunday urged all parties to show "calm and restraint" to prevent further escalation and to seek a peaceful solution to the crisis in Venezuela, following the U.S. military action against Venezuela.

* No matter how the international situation changes, China will always be a good friend and a reliable partner of Latin American and Caribbean countries, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Monday.

* U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Colombian President Gustavo Petro Sunday night, saying Petro "is not going to be doing it for very long." When asked about the possibility of a U.S. military operation against Colombia, Trump replied, "It sounds good to me."

* Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on Sunday that the United States has no right to annex Greenland, urging Washington to stop making threats against a close ally and the Greenlandic people.

* Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said on Sunday that countries' sovereignty must be respected after U.S. President Donald Trump again asserted that the United States needs Greenland.

* Russian air defense forces shot down 18 drones heading toward Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Sunday.

* A Palestinian delegation led by Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh met with Egypt's top intelligence and foreign affairs officials in Cairo on Sunday to discuss the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

* Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Sunday held a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to discuss the Gaza ceasefire and a range of regional issues, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

* Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that his country is ready to facilitate a dialogue between Yemen's factions.

* Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos on Monday signed into law a 6.793-trillion-peso (about 115 billion USD) national budget for 2026.
