U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested he would allow the last remaining nuclear arms control treaty between the United States and Russia to expire and instead pursue a broader deal that may include "a couple of other players," the New York Times reported Thursday.

* The United States may lose its voting rights at the UN General Assembly at some point if it does not pay its dues to the United Nations for a certain number of years, said Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN secretary-general, on Thursday. The spokesperson confirmed that the United States did not pay its dues to the United Nations in 2025.

* Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has said he will unconditionally respect and support all policies and decisions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the official Korean Central News Agency reported on Friday. Kim made the remarks in a reply letter to his Russian counterpart dated Thursday.

* The U.S. Senate on Thursday advanced a resolution aimed at limiting U.S. President Donald Trump's ability to take further military action against Venezuela.

* Venezuela's acting president Delcy Rodriguez announced Thursday the start of a government work agenda focused on assisting and rebuilding the areas affected by the U.S. military strikes carried out on Jan. 3.

* Venezuela's National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said Thursday that the government is carrying out the release of "a significant number of Venezuelan and foreign people."
