* Libya are hoping a three-day visit by a FIFA delegation will lead to a lifting of the five-year ban on hosting international football matches in the strife-torn country. According to a statement from the Libya Football Federation, the delegation will check the security situation in Libya so it can report back positively to FIFA and help lift the stadium ban that has been in place since 2013.
* Liverpool are facing the prospect of disciplinary action by European football authorities following an attack on Manchester City's team bus before their Champions League quarter-final. Missiles were thrown at the bus as it arrived for Wednesday's first leg at Anfield, which hosts Liverpool won 3-0. UEFA said it would investigate the setting off of fireworks, the throwing of objects, acts of damage and crowd disturbances.
* World Rugby said on Thursday it would convene an independent disputes committee to review Spain's defeat to Belgium last month, which resulted in Romania qualifying for the 2019 World Cup at Spain's expense.
* Russian Railways has been named as an official sponsor of the 2018 World Cup, which is being held in the country in June and July, global soccer body FIFA said on Thursday (April 5). FIFA said the state railway monopoly would be a third-tier regional sponsor of the event, joining fellow Russian companies Alfa-Bank and Rostelecom.
