WWF Vietnam and Epson Vietnam cooperate in climate change response

The WWF Vietnam and Epson Vietnam Company has organised a signing ceremony to implement a project on encouraging promote public and private sector participation in climate action and low-carbon efforts to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Vietnam.

Speaking at the signing, held in Ho Chi Minh City on February 17, Epson Vietnam General Director Tsumara Tsukasa said that within the framework of the cooperation programme, Epson Vietnam and WWF Vietnam call on the public, especially businesses in various fields, to work towards a low-carbon economy through the implementation of a series of activities aiming to raise awareness on climate risks and implement sustainable energy solutions to respond to climate change.

Of which, the highlights are the press communication and social networking activities relating to WWF-Vietnam's Earth Hour event, set to take place in March 2022; a handbook on climate risks, solutions to reduce carbon and use sustainable energy for businesses; and a webinar on climate change and sustainable energy.

WWF-Vietnam Representative Dr. Van Ngoc Thinh emphasised that within the whole society approach that WWF is trying to advocate, businesses play an irreplaceable role in solving the challenges facing humanity. The partnership between WWF Vietnam and Epson Vietnam is a clear example of the active participation of the private sector in the shared responsibility for global sustainable development.

With Epson Vietnam’s participation in Earth Hour 2022 and other activities, this partnership is expected to significantly increase public awareness of climate actions and promote businesses economical and efficient use of energy, contributing to the common effort in climate change response and sustainable development, Dr. Thinh said.
