Activities held nationwide to celebrate National Resistance Day

A wide variety of practical activities were held around the country to celebrate the 75th anniversary of National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946-2021).

An exhibition was held at the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi, featuring over 200 photos, documents and artefacts that affirm the sound and creative resistance guideline of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by President Ho Chi Minh, during the national resistance days in 1946.

The exhibition is expected to contribute to educating the patriotism and revolutionary tradition among people from all strata, especially the younger generations.

An exhibition of large-scale posters on the 75th anniversary of National Resistance Day was held in the northern portal city of Hai Phong.

Through the images and words, the posters recalled the glorious revolutionary history of the country as well as the resilience and determination for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people during the resistance wars against the foreign invaders.

Lam Dong Library, in the Central Highland province of the same name, introduced over 500 historic literary and art books that reproduce the fierce days of national history from the August Revolution to the National Resistance Day. The event will last until the end of December.

The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held a scientific seminar to clarify the causes leading to the national resistance day; the decisive, sensitive, and flexible direction of the Party Central Committee and President Ho Chi Minh on the opening of the national resistance war against the invading French colonialists; and the results and significance of the National Resistance War.

The seminar affirmed and honour people who sacrifice their lives for the nation’s independence and freedom.
