Speaking at the meeting, General Nguyen Trong Nghia highlighted the newspaper’s achievements over its 76 years of development. He noted that People’s Army Newspaper had been honoured by the Party, State, people and armed forces with numerous prestigious awards, including the Gold Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order and the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

He commended the newspaper’s contributions as the mouthpiece of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, as well as a voice of the armed forces and the people. In recent years, the newspaper has provided extensive and diverse coverage of major national and military events across multiple platforms, helping to promote their political, historical and cultural significance among troops and the public.

He stressed that People’s Army Newspaper must continue to innovate to meet the demands of the new situation, with its development vision aligned with the country’s goals for 2030 and 2045.

Later the same day, General Nguyen Trong Nghia visited and congratulated the Military Radio and Television Centre and the National Defence Journal. He lauded their achievements and called for stronger digital transformation efforts, expanded external communications activities, and the development of politically steadfast, theoretically grounded and professionally capable teams of journalists, editors and media personnel.
