On the front page of its September 2 edition, Kampuchea Newspaper prominently published an article titled: “Relations between the ruling parties of Cambodia and Viet Nam strengthened”, with a photo of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) cum President of the Cambodian Senate, and To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, at a meeting in Ha Noi.
According to Chea Thyrith, spokesperson for the Cambodian Senate, the meeting contributed to consolidating the close and cooperative relationship between the two countries, especially between the two ruling Parties. President of the CPP Samdech Techo Hun Sen praised the historic significance of the August Revolution in 1945 and expressed his satisfaction with the Viet Nam–Cambodia relationship today.
Meanwhile, General Secretary To Lam emphasised the importance of recent exchanges between Party leaders and encouraged further bilateral exchange, particularly between the youth of the two countries.
Speaking to Nhan Dan Newspaper’s resident correspondent in Cambodia, Sous Yara, spokesperson, member of the CPP Central Committee, First Deputy Head of the CPP Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, and Chairman of the Cambodian National Assembly’s Commission for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Information, stressed that the Cambodian delegation’s participation in the 80th anniversary celebration in Ha Noi, led by CPP and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, demonstrated the sustainable friendship, good neighbourliness, and comprehensive cooperation, passed down through generations between Cambodia and Viet Nam.
The Fresh News online ran an article with multiple photos and videos titled “Viet Nam celebrated National Day with a grand parade”, expressing its impression of the large-scale event and the strong patriotic spirit of the Vietnamese people.
“Tens of thousands of people gathered along the streets of Ha Noi, many wearing red T-shirts and carrying Vietnamese flags, expressing national pride. At the parade, Viet Nam displayed modern weapons, including tanks, missiles, helicopters, and fighter jets. Thousands of Vietnamese soldiers, along with soldiers from China, Russia, and other countries, also took part in the parade,” Fresh News reported.
Thmey Thmey Website highlighted the scale of the parade marking the 80th anniversary of the National Day.
“The parade featured the participation of around 40,000 soldiers and civilians, with tanks, drones, and missile systems parading through the streets, while helicopters and aircraft flew overhead, attracting thousands of spectators in central Ha Noi,” the website reported.
The article also quoted remarks by General Secretary To Lam at the event, in which he, on behalf of millions of Vietnamese people, paid solemn tribute to the nation’s forefathers, expressed boundless gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, and honoured the revolutionary predecessors and millions of compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed for independence, freedom, reunification, and the people’s happiness. The Vietnamese people have overcome countless hardships and challenges, transforming from a colony into an independent, unified nation looking to the future.
