Thuy’s project, which was among more than 1,960 nominations from nearly 100 countries in 99 different design disciplines, won 94 out of 100 points in the category of Public Arts Design for Society and Environment.

Under her project, Thuy worked with her colleagues from the New Hanoi Art Company to renovate and redecorate the old Mirror House at Hanoi’s Thong Nhat (Reunion) Park with colourful, ceramic, mosaic murals.

Designed in the shape of a huge snail shell, fifty mirrors have been installed along a maze providing interesting and unusual distorted shapes, bringing delight to all visitors.

On the fringes of the event, an exhibition showcasing the 453 prize winning works was launched at the MOOD Museum of Design in the centre of Como.

In addition, the prize winning works have also been printed in the A’ Design Award & Competition 2017-2018 Book, published in several different languages.
