The Vietnamese Women's Museum was established in 1987 under the Vietnamese Women's Union with the mission of researching, collecting, preserving, displaying and promoting tangible and intangible heritage on the history and culture of Vietnamese women and the Vietnamese Women's Union. At the same time, it is a cultural exchange centre for Vietnamese and international women with the goal of "Equality, Development and Peace".
As a gender museum located in the centre of Hanoi, about 500m from Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi's Old Quarter, the Vietnamese Women's Museum is located on Ly Thuong Kiet Street - one of the most beautiful and ancient streets in Hanoi.
When visiting the museum, visitors can learn about the role of Vietnamese women in the country's historical and cultural flow through scientific, beautiful and impressive display content.
The permanent exhibits focus on three themes: Women in the family, Women in history, Women's fashion, and Thematic display on Mother Goddess Worship, giving visitors an understanding of the image of women in all aspects of life, as well as the diverse cultural features of women of different ethnic groups.
The impression given to the public is a modern, attractive style, novelty in content and display solutions, rich in humanity and highlighting the identity of a gender museum.
