The Czech Senate President was welcomed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport by Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; Don Tuan Phong, Vice Chairman of the NA's Committee for National Defence, Security, and External Affairs; and Nguyen Minh Que, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of External Affairs.
Accompanying the Senate President on his official visit are Martin Frelich, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic; Zdenek Nytra, member of the Committee on EU Affairs of the Czech Senate; Jana Mrackova Vildumetzova, member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security; Josef Klement, member of the Senate Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions; Vaclav Laska, member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security; Ondrej Lochman, member of the Senate Committee on National Economy, Agriculture and Transport; Dana Kovarikova, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Sue Nguyen, Director of the Office of the President of the Czech Senate; and Vera Jelinkova, Adviser to the Senate President.
The visit by the Czech Senate President holds significant importance as it reaffirms Viet Nam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralism and diversification of external relations, and its proactive and active pursuit of comprehensive, extensive and effective integration into the world. It also demonstrates that parliamentary cooperation is an important pillar of bilateral relations and underscores the commitment of both countries to strengthening linkages, promoting cooperation, and elevating Viet Nam – Czech relations to a new height.
