Authorities in the central coastal city of Da Nang have partnered with industry stakeholders to host a familiarisation trip (famtrip) for 30 leading Indian wedding planning companies from October 3 to 6.
The delegation is scheduled to tour iconic attractions such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Hoi An ancient town, and VinWonders Nam Hoi An, as well as luxury hotels and resorts renowned for staging wedding events, including InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Furama Danang Resort, and Wyndham Hoian Royal Beachfront Resort & Villas.
In the first nine months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed more than 14.4 million visitors, up over 22% year on year. International arrivals reached 5.8 million, marking a rise of more than 31%. Notably, India has become the city’s third-largest international source market, with visitor numbers doubling compared to the same period in 2024.
According to Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Indian tourists increasingly view the city as a “luxury paradise” and an ideal wedding venue, citing its stunning landscapes, modern facilities, and the warmth and hospitality of local people. Da Nang has also pioneered a pilot scheme specifically designed to attract international wedding tourism, backed by supportive policies.
Industry experts echo this sentiment. Murad Enver, Director of Sales and Marketing at Inventum Global – an organiser of the famtrip, said the city emerges among the most outstanding wedding venues in Southeast Asia thanks to its world-class resorts, modern infrastructure, scenic environment, and professional event management capabilities, which fully meet the elaborate requirements of traditional Indian weddings.
Famtrip participant Pradeep Chauhan, meanwhile, praised the professionalism and friendliness of the local tourism sector.
With its expanded administrative boundaries and a diverse tourism portfolio, Da Nang now enjoys significant advantages for future growth. The city is home to several UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Hoi An Ancient Town, the My Son Sanctuary, the Marble Mountain cave inscriptions, and the Cu Lao Cham Biosphere Reserve – alongside international-standard golf courses, luxury resorts, and a well-connected air network.
