The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations and the Viet Nam–China Friendship Association of Da Nang, in coordination with the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang and relevant agencies.

Addressing the event, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh highlighted that 2025 marked a significant milestone, with the two countries successfully celebrating 75 years of diplomatic ties and organising the Year of Viet Nam-China Humanistic Exchange.

He stressed that Da Nang has consistently played an active role in fostering bilateral friendship through practical cooperation. The city has established official friendship and cooperation ties with five Chinese localities, including Shandong and Jiangsu provinces, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Kunming City of Yunnan Province, and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Regular exchanges of delegations, cultural activities and people-to-people exchanges have been maintained, alongside cooperation in investment, trade and other areas.

Ho Ky Minh noted that China remains one of Da Nang’s most important tourism markets and key trading partners. The city currently hosts 142 Chinese FDI projects with total registered capital of 556 million USD, mainly in the processing and manufacturing sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Dong Biyou reaffirmed the Chinese Consulate General’s readiness to continue serving as a bridge for cooperation. She underlined the shared goal of advancing the “six more” orientation, including higher political trust, more substantive defence and security cooperation, deeper practical collaboration, a stronger social foundation, closer multilateral coordination, and better management and resolution of differences. These efforts, she said, aim to further deepen the China–Viet Nam community with a shared future and contribute to achieving the long-term development goals of both countries.
