The new General Department of Logistics-Technology will be headed by Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc.

The merger of the two general departments is the realisation of the Politburo and Central Military Commission’s resolutions on reorganising military units for the 2025-2030 period and subsequent years.

Speaking at the event, Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang emphasised that the combination reflects new thinking and vision on the organisation of the logistics and technology sectors, which will better serve the cause of national defence.

He asked the General Department of Logistics-Technology to quickly complete its internal organisation and work to successfully fulfil all missions.

For his part, Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc expressed the determination of the new general department’s officers, soldiers and employees to carry on the traditions of the two former general departments, striving to make the General Department of Logistics-Technology a strategic advisory agency of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence.
