Earlier, the 14th Executive Committee of the VGCL convened its first meeting to discuss and decide on matters within its authority in Ha Noi on June 4.
At the meeting, the Executive Committee elected 135 members to the Executive Committee and 27 members to the Standing Committee of the VGCL for the 14th term.

The meeting re-elected Nguyen Anh Tuan, a member of the Party Central Committee, deputy to the 16th National Assembly, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organisations, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, and President of the VGCL, as President of the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour for the 14th term, serving the 2026–2031 tenure.
The Executive Committee also elected four Vice Presidents of the VGCL for the 14th term: Ngo Duy Hieu, Thai Thu Xuong, Nguyen Xuan Hung, and Le Van Nghia.
The meeting elected a 15-member Inspection Commission of the VGCL for the 14th term. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Vice President of the VGCL for the 14th term, was elected Chair of the Inspection Commission.
As part of its programme on the morning of June 5, the 14th Congress of the Viet Nam Trade Union announced the results of the first meeting of the 14th Executive Committee of the VGCL, introduced the newly elected Executive Committee, and heard an address by the President of the VGCL for the 14th term upon assuming office.
