The delegation paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the Vi Xuyen Martyrs' Cemetery and the Vi Xuyen Front Martyrs' Memorial Temple in Thanh Thuy Commune.

They also visited and presented gifts to a mine-clearance unit of Mine Action Company 319 and a team responsible for searching for and recovering the remains of fallen soldiers under the provincial Military Command.

Speaking with officers and soldiers, General Nghia praised their dedication and perseverance in carrying out challenging tasks under harsh terrain and weather conditions. He stressed that, ahead of the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, the Party and State are prioritising the search, recovery and identification of fallen soldiers' remains as a sacred responsibility that reflects Viet Nam's tradition of gratitude to those who sacrificed for the nation.

He called on military personnel to carry out their missions with what he described as "an order from the heart", overcoming difficulties to ensure effective mine clearance and facilitate the recovery of martyrs' remains.

During the visit, the delegation also attended a community programme providing free medical consultations, health check-ups, medicines and gifts for policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged students in Thanh Thuy Commune, and visited the Thanh Thuy International Border Gate’s Border Guard Station.

Earlier, General Nghia worked with the Tuyen Quang Provincial Military Command, commending its recent achievements and urging it to continue implementing Party and military directives effectively.

He highlighted the importance of the ongoing 500-day campaign to search for, recover and identify the remains of fallen soldiers, while strengthening coordination among authorities and armed forces to accelerate the work.
