General Nguyen Trong Nghia visits and works with Da Nang City Military Command

At the meeting, Nguyen Trong Nghia heard a report from the Da Nang City Military Command on the results of implementing local defence and military tasks and border defence work in recent times.

Notably, the city’s armed forces have thoroughly grasped and comprehensively implemented all aspects of their tasks; effectively advised local Party committees and authorities in leading and directing the implementation of defence, military and border defence duties; successfully carried out the policy of organisational merger; actively participated in disaster prevention, search and rescue; and effectively implemented various tasks, movements and campaigns, including the Quang Trung Campaign on rebuilding houses for people affected by floods, as well as Party and political work achieving practical results.

He requested the Da Nang City Military Command to continue thoroughly grasping the guidelines and policies of the Politburo, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence; and to continuously innovate and improve the quality of advisory work in building a strong all-people national defence, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new context.

He emphasised that the city’s armed forces should focus on improving training quality, building a regular and disciplined force, and strictly observing discipline; promote digital transformation and the application of science and technology in association with ensuring military safety and confidentiality; and effectively perform the functions of a combat force, a working force and a production labour force.

They were also requested to build a comprehensively strong Party organisation of the municipal military and armed forces, truly serving as the core force in building a solid defensive area.

At the same time, close coordination should be maintained with units of the Ministry of National Defence, the Military Region stationed in the area, the public security and other forces to firmly safeguard national defence, security and social order and safety.

Nguyen Trong Nghia also suggested that the Party Committee and the People’s Committee of Da Nang City continue to pay attention to leadership, direction and the development of the city’s armed forces so that they become increasingly strong and truly serve as a firm support for Party committees, authorities and the people in safeguarding national defence and security, ensuring a peaceful and stable environment for the city’s socio-economic development.
